PhD, ongoing

Pursuing a PhD in Computer Engineering. My PhD is in Human-Computer Interaction, and is at the Microsoft Research Center for Social Natural User Interfaces at the University of Melbourne, Australia.

2014 Google Anita Borg Scholar

Awarded for demonstrating outstanding academic achievement, leadership and community involvement in Computer Engineering.

Masters, Human-Computer Interaction

Dual Masters from Carnegie Mellon University, USA and University of Madeira, Portugal. From here I not only met great minds, but also established a strong passion for user-centred research and design.


Technical co-chair of AfriCHI, the inaugural African conference for HCI. AfriCHI will be held between 21st and 25th November, 2016 in Nairobi, Kenya.


UX Lead and co-founder of Mobiotrics. A cloud-based mobile platform for collecting and managing biometric data in areas that have limited GSM and internet connectivity.

Solution Architect

I describe myself as a Solution Architect.
Applying user-centred research and design methodologies, I design innovative technology solutions that are relevant to the users,
that prioritise the users' lens,
that are grounded in research and
that solve a problem the users have.
I am particularly interested in designing innovative solutions for communities in Afrika.
